Thor Arne Lovland, Co-founder and CCO of Optime Subsea

Thor Arne Lovland

Having spent 1.5 decades in global leadership roles with the larger subsea providers; Vetco, GE and FMC, he started Optime Subsea along with 3 other colleagues in 2015. This was in conjunction with the start of the previous industry downturn.

Being a start up in one of the more complex segments in the industry, subsea controls and intervention, in addition to managing a lawsuit amidst this, puts Optime’s current result in an exceptional position. It is currently positioned as one of the leading innovative companies in its segment. Even during the Covid-19 pandemic and industry decline, Optime is awarded significant development projects. How has this resilience to recessions, focus on technology competence, market understanding, helped shape the company? How much time and cost have its subsea pump XT control system, SCILS, saved in operation? What about its newest umbilical less Tubing Hanger technology, how well does all of this fit into the operations and deeper waters in GoM?
